Abigail Holt to attend EU 2-day conference in Bucharest

Abigail Holt has been selected to attend a conference, funded by the European Union, entitled ‘Applying the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union’. Post-Brexit, it is crucial that legal practitioners understand the extent of existing rights and remedies to understand the content of the government’s proposed “Great Repeal Bill”. The event, focusing on the rights of Union citizens, will take place in Bucharest, on the 15th and 16th May, 2017 and will include consideration of the following topics:

  • The system of fundamental rights protection in Europe;
  • Relationship between the EU Charter and the ECHR;
  • Scope of application and interpretation of the EU Charter in national legal orders;
  • Right to good administration;
  • Freedom of movement and residence.
