The members of Lincoln House Chambers are delighted to welcome Abdul Iqbal QC to chambers. Abdul joins chambers as an associate tenant whilst retaining tenancy at Park Square Barristers, Leeds.
Abdul was called to the bar in 1994 and appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2014. He has been very well known to chambers for many years having worked very closely with a large number of our members on substantial criminal and regulatory cases over the last decade.
Abdul has built a very large and successful defence practice focused on the most serious criminal cases, such as homicide, high-value complex commercial fraud, serious organised crime, terrorism, and large-scale international drug trafficking.
Prior to his career at the Bar, Abdul qualified as a pharmacist and has experience of clinical practice. He represents corporate and commercial clients charged with regulatory offences and/or facing financial liability arising from breaches of regulatory law. Abdul’s pharmacy background and experience of serious criminal work naturally lend themselves to representing professionals charged with disciplinary breaches before regulatory bodies (General Medical Council, General Dental Council, General Pharmaceutical Council, Nursing and Midwifery Council, Solicitors Regulation Authority, Financial Reporting Council). His experience in this area will complement chambers Professional Disciplinary Team who are particularly busy serving the Health Care professions.
All enquiries in relation to Abdul’s work and availability to accept instructions should be made to the Director of Clerking, David Wright.
