Severfield (UK) Ltd pleaded guilty following a lengthy investigation and prosecution brought about by a fatality at their site in North Yorkshire. The company was fined in accordance with sentencing guidelines which only came into force on 1st February. Lisa and Austin Welch recently gave a seminar on the sentencing regime adopted by the courts in such cases. Lisa was instructed by the Health and Safety Executive.
