Simon Gurney secures acquittal in historic rape case concerning 3 complainants

Following a two week trial at Croydon Crown Court, Simon Gurney secured the acquittal of his client who had been accused of historic sexual abuse by 3 of his cousins between 2004 and 2009.

His client was accused of raping one of his cousins, who was alleged to have been just 3 years old at the time. He was also accused by two other cousins, from a different side of his family, of sexually abusing them when they were young children.

Simon’s client was himself just 23 years old, and between the ages of 10 and 15 at the time of the alleged offences.

The jury returned not guilty verdicts on all six counts alleged against Simon’s client.

Simon was instructed by Colleen Dickinson-Jones of Roebucks Solicitors.
