Louise Kitchin & Thomas Worsfold secure convictions against Organised Crime Group in major “chop shop” Operation.

Louise Kitchin (leading) and Thomas Worsfold (junior) have secured convictions against a sophisticated Organised Crime Group (OCG) operating in Greater Manchester. This group was responsible for the theft and illegal sale of high-value motor vehicles.

The OCG targeted vehicles for theft, often on demand, stripping them for parts or disguising them for sale. They also exported stolen vehicles and parts overseas, generating significant profits.

This prosecution stemmed from a comprehensive police investigation that connected multiple incidents over time, revealing a network of individuals repeatedly involved in various criminal conspiracies.

Police successfully tracked stolen vehicles before the criminals could disable the devices.

Analyzed communications from seized phones provided crucial insights into the group’s operations and collaborations. Data linked specific group members to crime scenes, corroborating their involvement.

The group stole at least 97 vehicles from February 2019 to January 2021, with losses exceeding £3 million. Notably, they targeted luxury brands like Range Rover, Mercedes, BMW, and Porsche. The OCG functioned like a business, with members assigned distinct roles.

The group received a sentence of up to 25 years in Prison.
