Paul Reid QC and James Heyworth secure acquittal of a man accused of organising a shooting
Paul Reid QC and James Heyworth, instructed by Farleys, have secured the acquittal of a man accused of organising a shooting in Accrington.
Kevin King, along with two other men, faced trial last year for conspiring to murder Mark Walsh; who was shot to the back of the head with a shotgun. The other men, Donovan Wallace and Jack Wilding, were convicted last year but the jury could not agree in respect of King. This month he was re-tried for conspiracy to murder; the Crown relying heavily on phone evidence and covert recordings from Kevin King’s HGV, gathered by the police as part of Operation Albany. Following a 9 day trial, the jury returned a not guilty verdict within two hours of retiring.
