Crown offer no evidence after cross examination by defence counsel Kate Blackwell QC
Kate Blackwell QC represented ’SW’, a medical professional, who was charged with rape. The allegation dated back 8 years when he had met the complainant on a dating app. After the conclusion of Kate’s questioning of the complainant the Crown considered its case, offered no evidence, and a ‘not guilty’ verdict was entered by the jury on the Judge’s direction.
Kate was instructed by Zita Spencer of Olliers Solicitors who said, “Kate’s cross-examination, was perfectly planned, respectfully presented and had a devastating effect on the Crown’s case.”
