Complex Sexual Offences Sentencing Exercise Concluded

[intro]Charlotte Holland represented Gareth Hulme, a Defendant charged with serious sexual offences. The case involved many complex issues, but lengthy conferences with the Defendant over many months led to guilty pleas being entered and the matter was sentenced yesterday.[/intro]

The complex sentencing exercise took place over two days on 29th and 30th June 2010 at Crown Square before His Honour Judge Gee QC. Due to the seriousness of the cumulative offences, the Defendant was sentenced to Imprisonment for the Public Protection, with a minimum period to be served of 6 years and 105 days.

The case has been reported widely in the national media.
