Manchester Arena Inquiry Volume Two Report Published Today
The Manchester Arena Inquiry was established to investigate how, and in what circumstances, 22 people tragically came to lose their lives in the attack at the Manchester Arena on 22 May 2017 and to make any such recommendations as may seem appropriate.
Following the Inquiry hearings which spanned 18 months and concluded in March 2022, Sir John Saunders, the Chairman of the Inquiry, has now published his second report. This report, Volume Two, is the second of three reports.
The report considers the evidence heard by the Chairman during the oral hearings on the preparedness of each emergency service to respond to a marauding terrorist firearms attack and the events on 22nd May 2017 after the explosion, in particular the emergency response and the experience of each deceased person. It sets out the circumstances of the attack, emergency response, conclusions and recommendations.
Please note that the Volume Two Report contains content that some may find distressing.
