Sarah Magill succeeds in applying to dismiss the prosecution against care home employee
Sarah Magill represented a care home employee who faced trial for ill-treating a resident who lacked capacity. The defendant was new to care work and had received insufficient training. The defendant was required to carry out a role they should not have been given. Sarah successfully advanced legal argument to dismiss the case, and her lay client was extremely relieved to be acquitted and maintain their good character. Sarah was instructed by Hannah Youren of Clarkson Hirst Solicitors and benefitted from her careful case preparation and expertise.
