Morecambe Murder: Man Jailed For Life
A man has been jailed for life for the murder of a 49-years old Morecambe man in September 2024.
Keith Thompson had sustained life threatening brain injuries when he was found in a subterranean drugs den, in Heysham, Lancashire, in the early hours of 28th September.
He had been beaten and kicked to death by a man he believed to be his friend. On 7th April, the trial judge, Mr Justice Bright sentenced Leigh Smith to life imprisonment for the murder of Mr Thompson. Smith, 39 of Binyon Court, Lancaster had accepted killing his friend Keith Thompson during the course of his trial at the Crown Court sitting at Preston.
