Abigail Holt to Speak at Advance Care Planning in Non-Malignant Disease Conference 2017
On Tuesday 2nd May, Abigail Holt will join a panel of expert speakers as part of the Advance Care Planning in Non-Malignant Disease Conference 2017. Abigail is going to be speaking about Advance Care Planning and the Law.
Abigail will be presenting this talk to Palliative Care Consultants, General Practitioners, Nurses (particularly specialty CNSs e.g Heart Failure Nurses, Respiratory Nurses and Community Matrons), Specialty CNSs/Allied Health Professionals.
Abigail has been approached to take speak at the conference due to her extensive knowledge of complex medical issues including: issues surrounding competency and consent; knowledge of regulation of healthcare professionals; her long experience of dealing with seriously ill and disabled clients and their families; her academic interest in the ethics of end of life issues; and attending hearings to take evidence on commission from Claimants at the end of their lives, as advocate and performing the role of a Court Examiner in cases where evidence on commission has been ordered
