Austin Welch presents seminar to the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health
On Tuesday evening Austin Welch presented a seminar to the Manchester and North West branch of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) focusing on the impact of the Sentencing Guidelines on small and medium size businesses. The seminar considered some of the more significant cases from 2016 and explored some of the practical steps that companies and individuals can take to mitigate the impact of a prosecution for health and safety breaches.
Austin is a committee member of the Manchester and North West branch of IOSH and is regularly instructed to represent defendants charged with health and safety and environmental offences. On 19 January 2017, together with Dan Thomas, he will be presenting a seminar for solicitors in relation to sentencing in health and safety cases. Please contact David Wright for further details.
