Henry Blackshaw Secures conviction of hit and run killer after 12 years of evading justice.
Henry Blackshaw secured the conviction of the hit and run killer of five-year old Samuel Walker, after 12 years since the incident happened on February 9th, 2003. The issue in the trial was the identification of the car driver. He has now been sentenced to nine years imprisonment for causing death by dangerous driving.
In addition the car owner, an associate of the driver, has been convicted of perverting the course of justice. This was for giving a dishonest account to the police in 2003 concerning the alleged theft of his car. He will be sentenced at a later date.
Samuel was knocked down and killed while crossing a road with his family in Chorlton, Manchester.
Henry’s work on the case included advising at the pre-charge stage, together with the subsequent preparation and conduct of the trial.
