Leila Ghahhary acts for local authority trading standards unit in successful prosecution against a travel company, securing £46,000 in compensation for customers, fines and in costs.
Following investigation by Tameside Council’s Trading Standards Unit, Leila Ghahhary (instructed by Tameside Council) has successfully prosecuted two companies; Ashton Hajj & Umra Ltd and Kadim-Ul-Hujjaj Ltd, who jointly trade as Ashton Travel in Tameside. Both companies entered guilty pleas on the third day of trial at Minshull Street Crown Court, to an offence of engaging in a misleading omission under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations.
