Mixed Verdicts In Kenny Carter Murder Trial

On 26th June 2024 a jury returned verdicts which brought to a conclusion the trial of ten defendants who had been accused of the murder of a 16 year old boy.

Kennie Carter was stabbed to death in the Stretford area in January 2022. Prosecutors alleged that murder of Kennie Carter was an act of vengeance for a incident that had occurred the day before.

A trial of the ten defendants, at the Crown Court at Manchester, in front of Mr Justice Goose in April this year. At its conclusion a jury returned mixed verdicts which included a conviction for murder, for a single defendant, and convictions for manslaughter for three others. The remaining six defendants were acquitted on all counts.

Tim Storrie KC and Brendan O’Leary were instructed by Jon Mail, of Jon Mail Solicitors & Co, Manchester, for JF, who was acquitted by the jury on all counts.
