MR JEREMY LASKER SECURES THE ONLY JURY ACQUITTAL FOR HIS CLIENT IN ‘OPERATION HOMBRE’.
After a retirement that began on Monday 18th April 2016, it was not until the afternoon of Wednesday 20th April 2016 that the jury at Preston Crown Court returned with a unanimous verdict of not guilty for the Defendant represented by Jeremy Lasker.
OPERATION HOMBRE was an investigation carried out by the serious & organised crime unit into conspiracies involving the large scale supply of Heroin and Cocaine in the North West of England and beyond and into related Money Laundering offences.
It had resulted in an Indictment charging at least 13 Defendants. The Prosecution evidence was based substantially upon covert surveillance, phone attribution and mobile phone traffic.
The trial which was initially thought to have lasted for up to 10 weeks was substantially shortened by the last minute guilty pleas from a number of Defendants.
Jeremy Lasker was instructed by Mr John Greenwood of Stephensons Solicitors who advised his client from the very outset including at the interview stage pre charge.
