Neil Fryman & Thomas Worsfold Secure Substantial Sentences in “LEX” Drugs Line Case
Neil Fryman (leading) and Thomas Worsfold have secured sentences of over 42 years for 4 defendants in the recently publicised “Lex” drugs line and firearms case.
The case called for a close and careful approach to DNA evidence and cell site evidence, as well as legal arguments over bad character and intent to endanger life.
A point of particular interest was the prosecution teams use of the first Defendant’s own rap lyrics, produced under the name “NoChill”, in which he bragged about his previous drug dealing and the possession and use of firearms.
The evidence was subject to legal argument over its admissibility and expert evidence was adduced by both the prosecution and defence as to whether the lyrics should be interpreted literally and autobiographically.
Convictions were secured after a 7 week trial concluding in January.
