The complainant had alleged that the defendant had counselled or procured unlawful sexual intercourse take place between her and an adult lodger who went on to have relationship with the defendant. The Crown were forced to offer no evidence in relation to the most serious allegation of procuring unlawful sexual intercourse following Shirlie’s cross examination and the defendant was acquitted.
