Tom Worsfold provides presentation at Marple Sixth Form College
As part of Lincoln House Chambers Outreach Programme, Tom attended Marple Sixth Form College on Monday to speak with a group of students about life at the Bar and routes to the Bar. The students were able to hear about a typical day at the criminal bar, with Tom identifying the key skills that barristers deploy throughout their work.
The students also gained an insight into what training is required for a career at the Bar, including sources of funding for various stages. Tom answered questions on what the students could be doing now if they are thinking about a career at the Bar. Importantly, all were encouraged not to be put off by any stereotypes of a career at the Bar – increasing diversity and the requirement for fair recruitment have brought the Bar closer to modern society.
Tom said: “This was a really engaging group of students, who are obviously giving serious thought to a career at the Bar. It was a pleasure to meet with them all.”
